Market
Candidate – Brett Hughes
The Green Party's council candidate here in Market is Brett Hughes, Chair of Cambridge Green Party and a teacher at the MPW and Cambridge Seminar colleges. Brett originally came to Cambridge as a mature post-graduate theology student, after a career in Australia that included both banking and radiography!
Brett writes "Market Ward encompasses some of the city's most beautiful and important places but also some of those most under threat. If development is not only controlled but of high standard, if open spaces are not cherished not just exploited, and if all the myriad pressures on a tight city centre are not properly managed, not just Market Ward, but the whole city will be the loser.
Making sure that this does not happen and that we fight against Cambridge becoming more and more uneqal in terms of housing, wages and facilities would be my agenda as your councillor"
