First Green Councillor elected in Cambridge!

Cambridge Green Party thanks all those who voted for us in the City Council election of May 1^st..

We now have the first Green Councillor in the city, Margaret Wright, elected in Abbey Ward.

Margaret Wright, standing in Abbey Ward, on May 1^st. 2008, became the first Green Party Councillor in Cambridge!

Gaining 41.4% of the vote in Abbey, Margaret had a lead of 167 votes over the Labour candidate, with 812 votes cast for her altogether. Labour took 645 votes, the Conservatives 376 and the Lib Dems 129.
